Adam, Whitney and I met just over a year ago after they came across one of my photos on Pinterest. We met at City Centre to have a drink and discuss the initial details, and ended up staying for hours, which also included a visit to the Houston Motor Club next door, which was pretty amazing. Adam is in the creative field himself, building his own company from scratch, so we had plenty to talk about at the meeting. Their mutual enthusiasm for the wedding, the planning, and each other left me pretty excited for the wedding day, even more so after their engagement set at Brazos Bend State Park. These two are just so natural together, they made my work easy!
The wedding day finally came, and it was a beautiful, emotional, exciting event all rolled into one. A little drizzle had settled over Houston, but Whitney paid it no mind as she and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite. Adam and the groomsmen said a small prayer for their good friend Tito, whose recent and tragic passing prevented him from standing in the wedding. The reception hall was set with all kinds of great details, including one of the better groom’s cakes I’ve ever seen! The couple had a blindfolded (well, Adam anyway) first look before the ceremony so that they could share a few private words before walking down the aisle. And then, as if following the schedule, the rain subsided once the ceremony was set to begin!
The reception kicked off with the first dances, followed by a tearful sendoff to Tito, which was a sad but beautiful thing to capture all of his friends remembering him on such a happy occasion. Dinner followed with delicious BBQ, then it was time to cut the cake. Adam went all out, probably getting a little cake in Whitney’s nose, judging from the photos! After some liquid courage had been dispensed, the dance party started on the dance floor, going strong all the way until the end of the wedding. Adam and Whitney exited in a flurry of bubbles, capping off a beautiful wedding, from start to finish.
Guys, it has been wonderful getting to know you two, and I’m excited for what the future holds for you both.
