It was such a pleasure getting to know Duke and Dianne in the months leading up to their wedding. Dianne is a city dweller like myself, who loves being surrounded by amenities and conveniences that Houston can offer. Duke, on the other hand, longs for acres of land, cows, and wide open spaces. When you sit and talk with them for any period of time, you immediately get the feeling that these two hadn’t been complete until they’d found each other. They have such a kind demeanor that you feel like old friends, even if you’ve only known them for a few hours!
I grew more and more excited about the wedding, especially after visiting Houston Oaks Country Club with Dianne a few weeks before the wedding. Houston Oaks is a sprawling complex northwest of Houston that features a golf course, brand new clubhouse and many other amenities. Most exciting for me though, was the 15th century French chapel, which had been painstakingly dismantled in France, and brought to Houston brick-by-brick. The chapel, while tiny, has been one of my most favorite venues to photograph a wedding. Packed to the gills with only 40 attendees, the chapel has a quiet, intimate feeling that made their wedding truly special.
Duke enjoys photography as a hobby and was generous enough to give a wide window for their photos after the ceremony, and we took full advantage of the beautiful scenery. After that followed a short reception and lunch – short but certainly sweet!
I couldn’t be happier for these two as they start out their new life together. Congratulations to Duke and Dianne!
