I had been looking forward to Matt and Jenn’s wedding for some time now. Matt works at a company which maintains an amazing group of classic cars, and I first met him when I was brought on to photograph some of the collection for upcoming auctions. Matt is a very genuine guy, and we had a fun time discussing cars and photography every time that I returned to shoot. Every now and then, his girlfriend Jenn would come by while I was shooting to bring Matt lunch or cookies for the entire crew. She was always very sweet, and on one assignment, Matt told me that he planned to ask her to marry him when they went on an upcoming vacation with friends to Colorado. You could sense his excitement as he laid out his plan to surprise her up on a mountain in the snow. It was then that he asked if I would photograph their wedding, and of course, I agreed!
Getting to know them both further in the time I’ve spent with them has been awesome. Their engagement session was a lot of fun, mainly because they both were so comfortable and natural with each other, which always makes for great photos. Jenn was a diligent planner, and made sure that I had all the information I needed about the wedding day so that I wouldn’t be left wondering on the big day.
When the day finally came, we all gathered at Grace Bible Church eager with anticipation. Matt and his groomsmen were awesome to shoot before the wedding, giving me plenty of funny shots and ideas to work with. Jenn looked beautiful, and her bridesmaids were all great in helping her get ready. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and everyone soon headed over to the Heights Villa for the reception, which made for some great photos.
Matt and Jenn are such a great couple, and it has been so much fun working with them both. I still see Matt regularly when shooting some cars in his collection (as recently as yesterday!), so I look forward to keeping in touch with them both as time goes on. I wish them both the best going forward in their new future together; many happy years.
