I knew from our very first meeting that Nikki and Greg’s wedding was going to be something special. They’ve been together for quite some time, and it is readily apparent from their College Station engagement session. They are completely comfortable, secure and in love with each other. I was excited for the big day to come, and couldn’t wait to get started when it finally arrived. They chose Crystal Springs as their venue, which was a perfect fir for their laid back, country themed wedding. The ceremony area was set under a covered area amongst towering pines and a small pond. When I arrived, the girls were well into their hair and makeup, so I took the dress out into the doorway facing the ceremony area to get some warm, natural light coming through it.
From there we headed out to get photos of the bridal parties. This is where Nikki and Greg’s personalities shown through, and we got some really fun shots of the groups doing pretty much whatever we could think of there on the spot. Having a bridal party that is open to pretty much any photo ideas is always a great help! The ceremony went perfectly in the warm afternoon light, and after a few more portraits, we all ducked indoors in favor of the shade and cool air conditioning.
Now from getting to know Greg and Nikki over the past few months, I’d had an inclination that the reception would be a good one. I was right, but I had no idea how right I was! After refueling on awesome BBQ from the Cork Screw, the crowd spontaneously erupted into a full fledged dance party. Glow sticks appeared, drinks flew, shoes came off, and I got to enjoy one of the better receptions that I’ve ever shot. This lasted all the way up until their bubbly exit, where they were whisked away to get some rest before their honeymoon.
I’ve had such a great time getting to know you two over the past few months, and I wish y’all nothing but the best. Congrats to Nikki and Greg!
