I was the second shooter for a wedding this past weekend. Jacob and Laura were a pleasure to work with, both very laid back and willing to help out so that everything on our side went smoothly.
The wedding was a ton of fun and challenging at the same time. It was the first time I’ve experienced strict rules for photographers in the church (no flash, can’t go past the last pew, and staying up in the balcony is preferred). All these limitations definitely threw a kink in the ideas that I’d had for the ceremony, but I it was definitely a learning experience. I suppose next time I shouldn’t be so afraid to kick up the ISO on the D700 – that’s what it’s there for, right?
Being the second shooter, I tried to capture small details and moments rather than the obligatory shots, which were covered by the primary shooter. It was a lot of fun to be able to experiment with different lighting and settings to get new effects. Hopefully I will get to use these in the near future.
Many thanks to Lindsay Dixon at My Storykeeper for letting me come along!
On to the photos!
