Mike and Jane’s engagement session was such a fun, creative exercise in something totally new and different. We elected to have three separate sessions with three different feels to each, to create a little story line of their lives together. We started at Rice University, making our way to James Turrell’s “Twilight Epiphany” Skyspace on the far end of campus, just in time for the daily light show at sunset. The second day, we hid from the rain at Hotel Sorella, creating an intimate, formal scene with “fashion” lighting that was as challenging as it was fun! Mike and Jane fell right into character, and we produced some awesome shots. It is a style that I feel I am just scratching the surface of, and I would love to continue to work more with this particular look!
The third and final session, I tagged along as they headed to Discovery Green for their video session at the skating rink. It was actually great to have the videographer there commanding Mike and Jane’s attention so that I could concentrate on their natural bond with each other, getting some great shots of them laughing, being close, and having a fun (and surprisingly stable!) time on the ice rink.
Thanks for having such a creative vision for your set, guys! I am so happy with the way they turned out, and I hope you guys love them!
